To All Coaches & Athletes,
First, I want to apologize for the
delay in posting the meet information for the 25th annual Fullerton
Season Opener Cross Country Invitational. I found out a few weeks ago that we
would be unable to host the meet at our traditional site of
In
addition to the site change, there are a couple other notable changes. First,
in order to use the golf course we had to move the meet to a late afternoon/early
evening start. Baring an extreme heat wave, the start times should produce
pretty good conditions. Second, because of the increased cost of renting the
golf course, I’ve had to increase the entry fee from $100 to $150 per team and
$25 per individual. Third, I’ve changed the women’s distance from 5K to 6K.
This is a change I’ve considered for several years, and with a 2K loop course
it seemed natural to make the change this year.
Again,
I apologize for the delay in getting this information out, but I’m optimistic
the changes will provide a great experience for all the participants, coaches
and spectators. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or

SEASON OPENER
CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL
Date: Saturday,
September 5th
Times: Women’s
6K - 6:00pm
Men’s 8K - 6:30pm
Location:
(714)578-9201
Course: 2K loop course; predominately flat
with some rolling sections; mostly on fairways with some dirt sections and cart
path crossings. Course should be available for warm-up by 4:30pm. Please no
running on greens. Course map will be available at a later date.
Team Area: We have use of the “Front 9” holes of the
golf course only. Looking down the 9th fairway from the club house,
the best place for team areas will be under the trees on the right hand side of
the fairway, and canopies could be set up across the bridge and behind the
starting line.
Entries: Email entry list to Don Chadez @ dchadez@aol.com no later than 5:00pm
PST on Tuesday, September 1st. Please put “Fullerton Opener Entry”
in the subject line of the email. Please indicate whether a team entry or an
individual/ unattached entry.
Entry Fee: Team Entries of 5 or more = $150 (Men +
Women = $300)
Individuals or Teams of less than 5 = $25 per
person
Make checks payable to: CSF Athletics
Awards: Top 2 teams and top 10 individuals in
each race.
Parking: Free parking available at Golf
