SoCal Rules Committee Minutes

Treasures Report – Brian Yokoyama – We now have a balance of $6,182. We will keep collecting dues in the fall at the SoCal Preview Meet and in the spring at the Cerritos Invitational. Teams that have not paid their dues will not be given medals at the regional meets.
SoCal Track – Pat Thiss – Meet went very well not many problems. There was a discussion about where the pole vault coaches had to sit and if there should have been coaching boxes. That is something that will be left up to the meet manager and the games committee. Trade Tech Medals are being held by Mark Covert as they have not paid their dues for track of 07.
SoCal Track – Pam Kelley/Dave Frickel – time schedule was passed out – there was some discussion about the pole vault – Pam and Dave will have a new time schedule at our meeting in Dec.
State Meet Track Report 2008 – Doug Wells passed out a time schedule that has a number of events on Friday but said that everything could go to Sat. if the group wants. He will have a finial schedule in December.
SoCal XC - Al Siddions – Preview Meet will be Friday Oct 5 and the SoCal Finals will be Sat Nov 3. Entry fee will be a flat $5o for each schoolmen and women just as we have a flat fee in track. Al can send bills out in Sept. to all schools that have a cross country program.
SoCal Rules Book – Wind variance races – it was voted to
keep the wind variance rule and add in the rule book “That when a scratch occurs in a race where the wind variance rule has
been used the replacement shall come from the same heat as the scratch.”
The number of alternates from each conference from conference to southern cal will be changed from 3 to 5. No conference will have more then 5 alternates.
Qualifying in the 1500 and 3000SC will now be the top 4 from each heat and the next 4 fastest times.
