Football throw?... From 1933-38 the Calif. State HS Championships included an exhibition football throw with a 220 ft. meet record  in 1935 by John Raitt-Fullerton HS.

Gail Devers-880?… In the 1982 California HS Championships, Gail Devers, two-time Olympic 100-meter dash champion, competing for Sweetwater HS (National City), placed 6^th in the 800-meter race-2:11.07. 

Hawthorne-Speed City II?... During the 1980s Hawthorne High School’s sprint power was unprecedented as their girl’s 400-meter relay won five state 400-relay titles and the boy’s 400-meter relay teams recorded 40.24 (fastest ever Calif. time then), 40.25, 40.36, 40.64, 40.87 times.The Hawthorne boy’s 1600-meter relay teams won six consecutive state titles (1983-88) highlighted by an extraordinary, still-standing 3:07.40 at the 1985 Texas Relays (against prep competition). The boy’s top-10 list in both relays has to be eye-opening. 

    Ann Regan-ahead of her time… At West Valley CC Ann Regan led her team to the 1980 State T&F Championships with 800m (2:09.22) and 1600m relay wins. That fall she played a major role in West Valley taking the NorCal and State team cross country titles. However, she gained national recognition in high school at Camden HS (San Jose) winning three consecutive 880y state titles with national prep records in 1977-78 and an outstanding 2:04.37 (3^rd best Calif. prep mark then) in the USA/USSR Junior meet.
